Orico/Uspeed 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub (H7928-U3) - Box Contents, Features, Issues, And Images

Gear: Orico/Uspeed 7-Port USB 3.0 HUB

I had a need to replace my Anker USB 3.0 HUB 4-Ports. One of the ports went bad, and frankly 4 ports was just not enough. I connect a lot of USB devices to my laptop, and I hate connecting/disconnecting cables. I can connect all of those devices to a hub, and then connect that hub to my computer by using a single cable. In a way it works a lot like a docking station.

Box Contents:
  • Orico/Uspeed unit.
    • 7 ports and LED lights.
    • AC and USB 3 port.
    • Plastic case.
  • Warranty Card and User Manual
  • Power Adapter
    • Input: 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz 0.5A
    • Output: 5V, 4.0A
    • About 45 inch long cable.
  • USB 3.0 data cable
    • Type A to Type B.
    • 25 inch long cable.
  • Brando bag (if device is ordered from Brando's shop).

    • Supports 3.0, 2.0 and 1.0 USB devices.
    • Charges USB devices without the need of connecting to a laptop.

After a while of use some devices will not "sync" with a computer, and you may need to perform a "reset"To perform a reset disconnect the power, USB data cable, and usb device, wait for a few seconds, and reconnect. This reminds me of resetting a wireless router.

Because power is being provided with the power supply, devices they will have power even when the USB data cable has been disconnected. Portable hard drives will continue to be powered, which makes them work all the time. I personally do not like hard drives spinning all the time, although it may or may not have a reduction in the lifespan of the drive. (some expert may be able to clarify this better than me).

I think this 7-port hub is way more functional when compared to my previous hub. I really like having a "docking station" and the convenience of plugging/unplugging one single USB cable to my computer. I spent $70 when I got the hub, and you can find it now for $55 (if you search for the "Uspeed" brand). Besides those pesky issues the hub does well enough.
