Wacom DTU-1031 - Digitizer Pen Input

Gear: Wacom DTU-1031, Lenovo ThinkPad X230T, Fujitsu Lifebook Digitizer, Wacom Tablets.

Accuracy
The X230T is fairly accurate in the center of its screen, once you move the digitizer towards the edges then things change.  You must hold the digitizer at a very vertical angle if you are to attain the best results, if you set the digitizer at a more horizontal angle then the accuracy diminishes.  The DTU-1031 seems to be more consistent and the angle of the digitizer does not matter as much, thus it is better than the X230T.

Pressure
The X230T offers 256 levels of pressure, and the DTU-1031 offers 512 levels of pressure.  Both systems do well on pressure, and there are some noticeable differences in drawing straight lines.  Perhaps the most drastic difference is in curved lines.  The X230T has blockier curves, while the DTU-1031 has smoother curves.

Software and Digitizers
The X230T has its own software called "Pen Tablet Properties" and the DTU-1031 has "Wacom Tablet Properties."  If you connect the DTU-1031 to the X230T each screen manages its own digitizers with their own software.  Two button Wacom pens with eraser, such as the Fujitsu Lifebook Digitizer, will work fine with the X230T's screen, but will NOT fully work with the DTU-1031.  The DTU-1031 only accepts one side button, and does NOT accept the eraser.  Also, pressure does not seem to be measured by the digitizer and instead is measured by the screen.

Finger Touch
The DTU-1031 does NOT accept finger touch input.  The X230T does accept single and multi-touch input.

Side note:
The X230T has a brighter and more colorful screen.  The brightness helps diminish some of that "grayish" graininess.  The DTU-1031's screen does not get as bright, therefore the grayish graininess is more noticeable.
