Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet - Remove Taskbar Icons And Lenovo SimpleTap

Remove TaskBar Icons

Gear: Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet, Convertible Tablets.

Sometimes computers come preloaded with programs that take over screen real estate. The X201T in landscape mode accommodates these icons very well, but in portrait mode it feels like clutter.

I recommend exploring the icons to figure out which ones you need and which ones you don't. Lenovo did add quite a few icons that you don't need to have at all times. Make sure you know what you are doing.

Once you have cleared up those unnecessary icons your system will feel cleaner and you will also have space to add those program icons that you do need.

One of the programs I do recommend having in laptops is Windows Mobility Center because it's loaded with useful system features.

Remove Lenovo Simpletap

Simple Tap is a program launcher and can also adjust system settings. Frankly these types of features are already built in Windows 7, and therefore you do not need Simple Tap.

The alternatives:

If you do not need Simple Tap I recommend removing it. To do this just press the Win key and type "uninstall a program", then find Lenovo Simple Tap and remove it. From now on you will not have that "red tab" showing on your desktop.

If you do like SimpleTap then check my showcasing with the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3T.
