A Few CES 2015 Technology Highlights

CES goes on from January 6th to the 9th.  However, many companies have begun releasing information on their new products and projects already.  While there is plenty of exciting devices... the majority of them are not that exciting.  So, below is a compilation of devices and technologies that did attract my attention.  Each day I'll update the page with new material.  Enjoy!

• Mad Catz L.Y.N.X 9 Modular Controller for Android and Windows devices.
• Many gaming controllers are restricted to a single form factor.  This means that you are technically limited.  The LYNX 9 is a modular gaming controller that can change it's form to meet your needs.  This means that you can use it on a phone, a tablet, or in a more traditional manner.
• The price is $300 and the orders begin shipping in March.  It's definitely an expensive controller, and one can only hope that it's sturdy and comfortable to hold.

AntLion Audio ModMic V4 - Headphones Become Headsets

Recently I begun looking for a good gaming headset.  I enjoy great audio quality but it seems as if in the realm of gaming you have to make a compromise.  Generally affordable headphones tend to have somewhat ok audio quality and an ok microphone.  I don't want just "ok" quality, I want great quality.  Now, I'm used to my Sennheiser HD 360 PRO (details), which are not the best but do offer very good audio quality.  As I looked for $250+ headsets (Audio Technica and Sennheiser at the top of my list) I realized that I only needed to add a microphone to my existing headphones and then I would be perfectly happy.  I looked up attachable microphones in online stores and found several, but most of them are on the low end of quality.  Eventually I ran into AntLion Audio's ModMic, which is by far the best product of its kind I have seen.  Below are the box contents, images, and some of my thoughts, and some tips.

Stinky Gaming Footboard - Foot Controller - Box Contents & Images

Previously I went through several hand held game controllers.  This time I'm going into some USB controllers that are manipulated by the feet.  This should make sense because those of us that drive already use a form of foot controller.  The use of foot controllers along with the keyboard and mouse can be beneficial--particularly in gaming or in programs in which your hands are already doing something.

On this post we will cover the Stinky Gaming Footboard.  This is one of the few foot controllers that is gaming dedicated.  The construction quality of the board is superb and the device should last a long time.  The origins of this board come from crowd funding via Kickstarter--I'm glad that they reached the goal!  Let's go over the box contents and cover some of the key details.

FS3-P Tri Pedal USB Foot Controller - Box Contents & Images

On this post I'll cover some details regarding the FS3-P, which is a three pedal usb foot controller.  The device offers a few more possibilities than the previously mentioned pedals.  Let's take a look at the box contents.

The Stealth Switch Pro was originally intended for hiding programs, or switching them.  The device is a single switch, which can be reprogrammed.  While the device includes software I would download the latest version.  The latest version has many benefits which I will cover below, although in gaming situations it can still be limiting.  But first, the package contents.
