Lenovo ThinkPad X201 Tablet - Installing a WWAN Module For X200 By Tcrudolph

Gear: Ericsson F3507G Module.

Most X201T systems will not have a WWAN module (mini pci-e) included. The WWAN module allows you to connect to the internet via cell phone bands such as 3G, 4G, Wimax, etc. You can manually add a WWAN card, although it is not always easy.

The video by Tcrudolph shows you the steps that you need to take to install the WWAN card. Of course the X201T is different, so disassembly is not the same.

An alternative to the WWAN cards are USB mobile broadband sticks, a mobile broadband hotspot, or use your current cell phone as the mobile hotspot via tethering.

The specific card that Tcrudolph used is the Ericsson F3507G Module.
