Team Based - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
Gear: GRAW
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) is a team based first person tactical shooter. The game allow you to control a team in the first-person perspective and through a tactical map.
Unlike the classic FPS you do not just run around and shoot things. (you can also do this if you choose to) The emphasis on tactics is a highlight of the GRAW series, the team leader moves his team members in order to suppress and flank the enemy.
A drawback of the series is the questionable team AI, and the difficulty of maneuvering the team.
Online gaming provided many hours of entertainment, the co-operative campaign in particular was excellent. Also, multiplayer maps could be easily downloaded from within the game client, which is something that changed in GRAW 2 (frustration increased!)
There is a console version of GRAW, which offered a third-person perspective. I played the game once, and it was quite good. While the PC version at times felt like a simulator, the console version was arcade-like and was very action packed. The game was released on PC, Xbox, PS2, and a updated version on Xbox 360.
