Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Tablet - Units Shipped!

The day of ordering I had a conversation with a Lenovo rep, which told me that it would take up to three weeks for a Lenovo ThinkPad X230T to be delivered. To my surprise the units began shipping today (June 14), and they will be arriving next week!

When you placed the order the ship date given was June 15. In the USA today is June 14, but China is a day ahead so they began shipping the units.

The delivery estimate by Lenovo is the 19th, and the UPS estimate is the 20th. The packages do have special instructions which require a signature at delivery, make sure someone is at home to receive your brand new X230T!

    2. Did you get any accessories? I didn't get any accessories, did get a HDD, only 1 RAM card, and no mobile broadband card. The box and padding could also change the weight.

    3. I think I made stupid mistake when i ordered the smart card reader and I guess it increased the weight. Do you know if I can return that? Also, how to connect to internet on this machine by using sim card, I didn't think I order the mobile broadband card.

    4. I doubt you will be able to return the smart card reader, without having to return the whole order.

To connect to the internet you need the mobile broadband card, and depending on the carrier (ie AT&T, Verizon, etc) you may need the SIM card. The carrier will most likely want your credit and start charging you money for the internet connection. If you didn't get the mobile broadband card you can still buy it and install it yourself.

  5. Did you hear that the X230t has build quality issues?

    1. I personally wouldn't worry about that because i think that user just got a lemon. Some stuff he mentioned were already existed on X220t and we are ok with it. Some of the thing he addressed I think due to his un-fortune. I hope mine won't have any problem like that :)

    2. I think there are valid points that future buyers need to consider before placing an order. As more early adopters share their reviews we will know what Lenovo has done right and wrong.

There are "super fans" of brands, they sometimes do gain some control in forums/groups/sites, and with this extra power they may feel like they have to protect the brand. We are human, we can do things because of emotions and without thinking of consequences. If the Lenovo forum moderator did manipulate the post of the user, it is because he is protective of Lenovo; he likes them so much that he wants Lenovo to succeed (to the point of occluding a user's review on purpose).

A single available review that is negative can have a huge effect on possible buyers. This is why I think a collection of reviews can give us a better picture of what to expect. There will be more reviews soon.

Just post my respond to the guy review on x230t, his negative review is not ok, most of his problems are due to individual unlucky case and can't be assume to happen to everyone...
