Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3T - Downloading Youtube Videos/Music With Mozilla Firefox

Youtube video playback on the S10-3T is fine when doing standard definition. When you increase the video quality the S10-3T may begin having lags, and this may be just an issue with Adobe Flash. So streamed videos have a hard time, but locally (from hard drive) played 720p HD videos work well depending on the encoding/decoding. (1, 2, 3)

So what's the solution to enjoy Youtube HD quality videos on your S10-3T?
  • Downgrade your visual theme to Windows Classic.
  • Download videos and play them locally.

When I need to download these videos I can do it through Mozilla Firefox and a plugin called "Easy Youtube Downloader". Another method is using Apple's Safari "Activity" window and then use a conversion tool, which requires more work on your side.

I recommend a video player like VLC media player because it can play almost any media file format.

You can use tools like Digital Janitor to organize .mp3 (audio) and .mp4 (video) files.
