Cooler Master Notepal Ergostand - Cleanup (dust accumulation sucks)

Gear: HP Pavilion DV6T QE, Cooler Master Notepal Ergostand.

I love my Cooler Master Notepal Ergostand. It's been a while since I got it and have never done a proper cleanupt. If you don't use an air duster often you will have to manually clean it.

Initially I got the cooling mat for the Lenovo X201 Tablet to give the system a nice angle and for that it worked very well.  Now I use it on my HP DV6T QE.  The HP DV6T QE does get hot when playing games and doing resource intensive tasks.  I recommend getting some kind of cooler mat to prolong the lifespan of your system.  FYI it never worked too well with the X220T.

Anything with a fan will collect dust.  Heat is the enemy of pc components and a good cleanup will ensure better performance.

  1. Nice one, but I did it once with water (the handheld bidet spray or something similar)
because I'm too lazy. Because it collected 2 years amount of dusts, after taking all the electronics off :D. The key is to spray it a bit slanted at the right corner of the fan near the outlet hole so it will make the blades spin and you're safe from the fan cable, etc.

Btw, do you know how to take the fan off the frame so I can modified it with another fan? I really like the frame, it'd be shame when the fan dies and I have to throw this thing away :D

    1. There are many ways of doing the cleanup. I never took the fan off, but eventually I might.

  2. Bump on the fan removal? mine just died... like still sputtering but yeah dead...
