Asus Eee Note EA-800 - Wacom Tablet Input

Gear: Lenovo ThinkPad X201T, Asus Eee Note EA-800, eReader Tablets.

A little bonus about this system is that you can use this system as a Wacom Tablet. The video has the details.

If you need to download the drivers go to http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php and get the Tablet PC drivers.

How to turn your Eee Note into Wacom Input Tablet:
  • Plugin your Eee Note via the included USB cable
  • On your Eee Note's Menu make sure to pick "Windows PC Digitzer Mode"
  • Let the system install the drivers (it should take a few seconds)
  • On your Eee Note choose either left hand side or right hand side configuration
  • Enjoy having a neat Wacom Tablet Input

This is a nice bonus about the Eee Note, but it's not going to replace any of the more "dedicated" Wacom Systems or in my case the Lenovo X201 Tablet.

If you have a stylus/digitizer with more buttons you will also get the extra features.  More info:

    1. I can't blame you. Most Windows 7 tablets are expensive. If you like the Android flavor there's also some alternatives

  2. Thank you for the all detailed reviews of EA800.
In Europe you can by it for 200Eu.
    But my question:
Can I use it as "common" graphic tablet on my Win7 desktop? So I do not have to buy 2 devices...

    Thank you.

    1. You can use it as many of the Wacom tablets that are hooked through USB. However, the lines produced by this system are blockier and personally I wouldn't recommend it for that.

  4. I bought a wacom bamboo tablet pen (http://www.amazon.it/Wacom-Penna-Per-Bamboo-Tablet/dp/B00169JAVO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348680075&sr=8-1) but is not working on my ea800. It's because this pen is not compatible? what pens could I buy? thanks

  5. I used the "Windows PC Digitzer Mode" app of the Eee Note on my average user PC and found out that it really makes a difference on "Paint". Do you know whether or not it works with "Microsoft One Note"?

    1. If it works with Paint it will work with MS OneNote.
